The Balvenie Releases Twin 50’s
The Balvenie has trotted out twin 50-Year-Old Scotch whiskies but you better bring a big wallet if you want a taste of this elderly liquor liberated from Cask 4567 and 4570 in The Balvenie Distillery’s famous Warehouse 24, which houses The Balvenie’s rarest whiskies. Both whiskies were put into European oak hogshead casks in May 1963 at 45.4% alcohol content [90.8 proof] for the Cask 4567 and 45.9% [91.8 proof] for the Cask 4570. Only 131 bottles of the Cask 4567 were made and are said to have fruit, spice and oak notes while even less – 128 bottles – of Cask 4570 were made with oak and vanilla notes.
Both The Balvenie 50-Year-Old Scotch whiskies are currently available and will be sold for $43,000 per bottle.
