Catoctin Creek “Adroit”ly Reveals Dia de los Muertos Whiskey
Virginia-based Catoctin Distilling has shacked up with Adroit Theory Brewing Company to produce some Dia de los Muertos malt whiskey offspring.
Adroit Theory contributed their Día de los Muertos Russian Imperial Stout, which was then aged and distilled by Catoctin Creek for “4.666” years in Minnesota white oak barrels, was promptly bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof] and is said to contain notes of caramel, chocolate and, of course, malt.
Only 147 bottles of Adroit/Catoctin Dia de Los Muertos malt whiskey is being made available directly from the distillery for $160 per 750ml bottle on July 6, 2019, with each customer restricted to one bottle [although said bottle will be encased in a custom-made cedar gift box].
