Two New Distilleries In The Works
Two new whisky distilleries – one for Macallan and one for Teeling – are in the works. The Teeling Whiskey Distillery will be located in downtown Dublin, Ireland, and be a pot still distillery with the capability of producing 500,000 liters of Irish whiskey per year. Meanwhile, the new Macallan distillery will be built from the ground up near the River Spey in Scotland and produce Scotch whisky.
The Teeling Whiskey Distillery is expected to be operational by 2015 and the Macallan distillery is expected to be operational by 2017.
