Bottle Or Can...any Preference?

Does it make a difference to you whether you buy your beer in a bottle or a can? I will go both ways..:) In beer only that is! I think bottles look a little classier, but as long as it the beer I seek, I really don't care if it is in a bottle or a can. I know some people like to save bottles, and some might get a bit of money recycling them, but that can go for cans as well.

I don't really care about that. Moreover, it actually depends on how much beer I want to consume. Cans are usually smaller. Bottles are bigger and, no surprise, heavier. I don't like holding heavy objects in my hands all the time.

I actually don't care that much, although I like to purchase beers that are stored in bottles. It's "classier" as you said an it looks better. I also love collecting bottles. :D

My dad's friend once had a huge beer can collection. He had an entire room filled with beer cans from all over the world, a bar sign or two etc. He actually has passed away now. I was wondering what happened to his collection. I will ask my mother see if she has any info.

If you are going to pour it into a cup it doesn't really make a difference but if I am not, I prefer a bottle to a can.

I prefer drinking my beer from the bottle as opposed to having it from the can. I just love sipping it from the bottle and it's my feeling that the beer seems to be more refreshing more refreshing in the bottle.

Bottle for me. I am not entirely sure why, but it just tastes better. Not that I haven't had beer in a can before, and some are quite good (e.g., Modelo Especial), but overall I prefer bottled brews.

I don't have a preference, really. I've noticed a lot of companies going back to the can. It's really just a matter of preference, but honestly, the taste isn't effected. I don't notice any difference in taste when I'm drinking beer from a can.

If you were to pour me two beers in two different glasses, I wouldn't be able to tell you which one came from a can and which came from a bottle. I just love beer.

For me, it's definitely the bottle. The can is way worse to drink from and it's uglier too to hold in your hand. With the bottle it's way easier to drink and it's also cooler.

I hear you. I am in no way a beer snob, but there is a certain low-brow factor of holding a can. Bonus points if one is using a Koozie. ;)

I've missed one point.

Is it true that liquid substances are better kept in glass than anything else?

Yes it's true. However most beer gets from the factory to the store and into the consumers hands quite fast, so I don't think you would notice a difference on such a short time scale.

Personally, while I prefer a bottle, cans are the way it's done here. You can find a few bottles and of course some imported ones are in bottles but the majority of beers is in cans. And the 24 can packs are really easy to carry!

Thanks for the explanation, I got the point perfectly. So, to me, it doesn't really matter what the package is. Instead, I'm mostly concerned about the temperature that my beer has. It has to be COLD. Otherwise, I'm neither buying nor drinking it.

I usually buy cans only because they are easier to put in the cooler with ice. You can fit more then bottles and you don't have to worry about them breaking. I do like the taste of beer better from a bottle and they seem to get colder in a bottle. I will drink them either way.

Except for those that prefer their beer warm like our UK friends. I never quite got that one. I have been in Pubs in the UK, but I forgot whether they use kegs and taps like we have in the US. I think so, but I think they might ask your if you want it cold or warm. I don't remember now. Not that that has anything to do with bottles or cans, I was just thinking about it. Maybe the Europeans could shed some light on this.

It is known that the glass is the best container for any liquids. Yes, I prefer glass bottles and I say glass bottles because in Serbia we have plastic bottles for beer. I am not sure if that is a case in some other countries but this is not cool at all.

This is a 2l plastic bottle and I have to admit as much as I do not like to drink beer from this bottle it comes cheaper and it is big :)

I don't believe I've ever seen plastic bottles for beer here in the US. A friend and colleague of mine is from Hungary and he mentioned it comes in such containers. I believe his favorite brand is Kőbányai that comes in glass bottles and plastic. I've never had the stuff, so I don't know if it is good or bad.

Yeah, I'm not a snob too, but I pay a lot of attention to details and this one looks way better to me. And a koozie is awesome, for sure!

My dad refuses to drink beer out of a can. One time someone gifted him a 12 pack of cans and he gave it away, which I find kind of amusing. Personally, it doesn't make too much of a difference to me. Now, if this were a discussion draft vs bottles/cans, draft all the way! I've never been able to tell much of a difference between bottles or cans though.

I have never seen a plastic beer bottle. I think it's all a question of time before you see more of them. Plastic is getting everywhere.
