I've gotten some pretty good ideas here, and I can't wait to try some of them out. The one I'm going to try out first is the 'ouzo in espresso' idea. I think that's the one I'm going to love the most.

Well, there's always those who celebrate Christmas in July (I didn't even know that was a thing until now) - they can try that out next month. I think you have to be careful though, people tend to get a little carried away with the eggnog and you don't want to have a christmas like the Kennedys :D

Honey Jack Daniels is quite good and I would suggest that everyone who likes whisky try that flavored one at least once. I'm willing to bet that a lot of you are going to be pleasantly surprised.

I've never actually had to budget for my drinks but I think that is a good idea if you know you like to drink on a regular basis and you don't want to be short of money when the time comes. It's a smart move to put aside the money so you don't have to miss out on having fun.

No need to reinvent the wheel here. Go with something safe and easy. I would suggest Jack Daniels. Can't go wrong with that... Of course that's only if the person is new to whisky, but if they are not, then something with a bit more flavor and smoothness should do it.

With all these benefits that wine has, I'm surprised more of us don't drink it more regularly. I personally like the taste of red wine, but I hate that I have to drink quite a lot of it to get the same effect that I get from, say, whisky.

That is by far my favorite way to relax after a hard day at work. I love soaking in the tub, lighting my scented candles and having a glass of wine while listening to some soft music. Nothing beats that for me when it comes to unwinding. I always come out of the bath a new person!

I used to smoke cigarettes, but I quite a couple of years ago. There are instances where I miss it but I don't want to go back to that. I think the next time I have a serious craving I will try out cigars and see how that goes.

I usually go for the cheap stuff when we're having a party or some kind of get-together with a lot of people. My reasoning is that if someone wants the good stuff then they should be able to buy it for themselves. Who could afford to shell out so much money for all those people?

I also grew up believing that both of the words are correct. Personally I use 'whisky' but I don't think there has ever been a problem when using either word because it's very clear what you mean whether you write it as 'whisky' or 'whiskey'.

I'm not really a Vodka person, but reading through this thread, I find myself being inspired to try out a few of the suggestions here. Vodka and apple juice sounds like something that I would enjoy very much. I can't wait to try one of these out this weekend.

First time I've heard that saying about drinking liquor after beer but I have to say that it makes a lot of sense to me that it's not necessarily detrimental to your health (unless you're drinking tons of liquor...) but you would be likely to end up drinking way more than you know is good for...

I used to do this a lot when I was younger, but these days I don't find it as much appealing as it used to be to take a random stranger home each time I go out. I guess I've grown up a little more and I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing, but that's just the way things are right now.

Till82, you took the words right out of my mouth! That's the kind of allergic reaction that a lot of us here experience almost every weekend! But other than that, I've never heard of anyone being allergic to any type of alcohol. Personally I would hate to be allergic to something so.... necessary.
