When Did You First Start Drinking?

My Dad used to give me sips of his beers as a kid. I thought it was so gross! But I guess the peer pressure got to me and I started drinking regularly around the age of 15. I had a few miserable experiences similar to the ones you guys have posted but didn't learn my lesson. It continued through...

    Fake Or Real Tree?

I always had fake trees growing up and wanted to have real trees as an adult. I love the tradition of going to pick one out and how it makes the house smell so good. But, after a few years of having to deal with the mess it makes and hauling it out to the curb...I know understand the appeal of a...

What Did You Get This Christmas?

I like incorporate a tradition that my mother started when I was growing up. There'd always be a "to Mom from Santa" gift under the tree. It was a gift that she had purchased for herself and wrapped for herself. So this year "Santa" got me a new rice cooker and a Cuisanart griddler (I do a lot...

    Do You Ever Take Baths?

I love baths and used to take one a few times a week, especially in the winter. Some lavender bath salts with some relaxing music and candles, ahhhhh! My current house only has one small bathtub and we use that most nights to give my children a bath. So, I don't get to have my relaxing bath...

Favorite Drink For A Drizzly Day?

It's a grey and drizzly day here in Seattle. Not to mention, we are still recovering from the football loss on Sunday :(. What does everyone like to drink on a dark, drizzly, and somewhat sad day when you don't feel like leaving the house? I'm looking to have something this evening.

    Where Is Everybody From?

I am in the Seattle area. It is a wonderful place to live (if you can stand the rain) with many great local breweries and distilleries.

    Kid-friendly Seattle Breweries

The one we frequent is great! They have a box of toys for little kids as well as bleachers with chalk boards for older ones. They are also dog friendly for those who wish to bring their fur children.

    What's Your Favorite Local Restaurant?

This is a such hard question for me. I live in the Seattle area and we have so many good restaurants to choose from and I've lived here for 10 years and have barely made a dent in trying them all. For a special occasion, I really like to go to a restaurant that has a chef's tasting menu to take...

What Is Your Beer Preference Dark, Light Or Amber?

I started out as a light beer drinker, the more like water the better :) But the older I've gotten and the more I've gotten to like beer, I'm drifting towards the hoppy beers. My favorite is a very hoppy IPA. I know not everyone likes the hops, but I love it!!!

    The Kentucky Bourbon Cocktail Book

I agree with the other comments. Recipe books aren't really needed anymore unless you are looking for something with nice photos or for a coffee table book. I'd use Google or Pinterest to look up different cocktail creations. Or, ask a good bartender (mixologist types are my favorite) for their...

    Drinking Beer With Food

I agree with both of you. Beer goes great with pizza, wings, burgers, steak and fries. And fish and chips! A good beer with a good beer battered fish is the best! Now I'm really hungry...and thirsty just thinking about it. Think I'll partake in a delicious winter ale.:)

    Club Or House Party?

In my younger days, a bar or club was my preferred setting. But now that I'm older, I prefer a small gathering with good friends and good quality food and booze. Everyone bring a growler of your favorite beer!

    Kid-friendly Seattle Breweries

Hoping to find some more recommendations for good Seattle breweries. We frequent Fremont brewing and have recently discovered Reubens (delicious IPAs). What are your favorites that are kid friendly?

    Do You Like Flavored Beer?

I don't usually like fruit flavored anything. But, I've tried an apricot one from a local microbrew (Fremont brewing) that was decent. The flavor was subtle. I'm really not a fan of the lime beers or pumpkin beers.
