Need reco for a 'non'-peety, caramel, floral high end Whiskey or Whisky (Scotch or Non-Scotch, Japanese, etal) for a Thanksgiving gift for discerning Whiskey/Scotch Drinkers.

Hey pallies. I do thoroughly enjoy Scotch Whiskey. I drink mine in a real basic fashion: over the rocks or, at times, neat. In years past I've done the scotch and soda thing, but gave it up. So, how do you drink your Scotch? Why so? Thanks for sharing! :)
