Beer, cocktails and wine all have emoji symbols for smartphones associated with them but Ballantine’s Whisky thinks whisky should have its specific emoji and not be lumped in with cocktails [which usually has a martini glass symbol]. So they have decided to do something about it and have created a campaign – with the hashtag #WhiskyEmoji – on social media channels Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to make their case.
Ballantine’s – Europe’s top-selling Scotch whisky – is hoping the campaign will inspire a designer to create a whisky emoji.
