Colditz-inspired Whisky On The Block

A bottle of Glen Mohr whisky will be put up for auction later this month but what makes this bottle special is that is the only one remaining – of 1500 produced – of a special batch made to commemorate British officer Major Pat Reid. Reid was said to be a fan of whisky and the Glen Mhor distillery [closed for more than 20 years] concocted a batch to honor his leading the legendary escape from Colditz Castle, the notorious World War II POW location used by the Germans to house Allied POW officers.

The bottle of Glen Mohr will be initially offered at $335-$500 at the Brightwells Auction on April 23, 2014.
