What had previously been a limited edition single cask introduction has now been granted more widespread availability as Nikka Coffey Malt Whisky moves out of the European markets and into Japanese and international waters. The Nikka Coffey Malt Whisky is a whisky created in Coffey [named after inventor Aeneas Coffey] column stills that are normally used for grain whisky. The Nikka Coffey Malt is said to produce oak-heavy notes and carries a 45% alcohol content [90 proof].
The Nikka Coffey Malt will now be available in Japan and internationally for $70 per bottle.
