How Big Is Your Collection?

So as whiskey enthusiasts I'm sure that most of you like to keep a few bottles at home. Either as a real collection or just to make sure that you always have some in case you feel like having a sip.

So how many bottles do you usually keep at home?

I'm currently stuck moving around too much to keep a proper collection so I've got usually between 2 and 5 different ones. But once I settle down a bit more permanently then I'll start to build up my inventory. :p

Unfortunately I don't really have a collection. I don't normally keep more than one bottle at home with me.

I never got around to starting my own collection, but I want to get some bottles up on my shelves soon. I would love to have a big stash in a couple of years.

Slow and steady. If you buy a bottle a week (without drinking all of it) then sooner or later you are going to end up with a nice collection of different ones to choose from. ;)

It's kind of hard to keep away from good whisky, but it's worth it! We'll see, I want to build a wall full of whisky bottles until I die. :D

Well, I don't really have the disposable income to build a whiskey collection. Personally I would rather have a wine bottle collection, but whiskey is good too!

I used to collect whiskey (and other spirits) bottles with their precious liquid inside, not because I had a large budget to collect them, but because my dad used to give them one in every box of bottles he used to buy to gift their friend in special occasions.

In the beginning, being still a teenager, he used to give me only miniature bottles, when I was turned in to adult, I began to receive full-sized bottles including whiskey, brandy, rum, etc, but...

There was a day in which I decided to drink all the content of my bottles that put ellipsis to my collection, while I recover to enjoy the reorganize my collection; now merely with empty bottles.

However, one fine day I found they were occupying too much space and I got rid of it.

Actually I had less than a dozen of bottles, still empty, but mainly a decoration, in which the star is a cognac bottle with fancy design, not a whiskey one.

Haha, I have a dream of building my own wine cellar.. nothing too big but something where I can store up to 100 bottles or something. Just need a house with a basement for that... so this is just a far away dream right now.

I usually have 3-4 different bands on hand at any given time. I wouldn't really consider it a collection. I try to keep a stock of different liquor in my home bar.

Well crimsonhost, you can have a minature wine bottle collection. They have those wine bottle coolers that accommodate a number of different bottles..Some of the large size ones might accommodate as many as 24-48 bottles. I am not sure where people store whiskey bottles in their home...I guess in their bar.

I would love to have my own collection, but I'm afraid I can only have at most two bottles at a time. Maybe by the time my birthday rolls around, I can have enough cash to increase that amount to three, but bills have to be paid and tooken care of first before anything else.

I always thought that wine cellars were really cool. I live in an apartment at the present time so no wine cellar for me. I do have a wine rack that I store some wine on. I am not much of a wine drinker but people always seem to give me wine over the holidays so I take it home and put it in the rack. My daughter is a wine drinker so whenever she comes over she usually takes a few bottles with her when she leaves.

Well yeah as I said my wine cellar is simply a dream now. I don't even have an apartment currently, so I'll need that first, then start thinking about a house with a basement that I can turn into a wine cellar. :D
