American Honey

My wife's uncle had me try this.

It's 3 parts ginger beer (actually it's a soda), 1 part American honey whiskey.

Sometimes I slip and it's 1/3 whiskey, but you know, that depends on the kind of day I had!

There's a Jamaican ginger beer that has a really cool kick or spice to it that pairs very well.

I hate ginger beer, but I think it might actually be tasty if I couple it with some whisky. It looks interesting.

I only ever had ginger beer once and I literally jagged at the first drink. It may be better mixed with something but it wasn't very good on it's own.

Ginger beer is one of the main ingredients in a Moscow Mule if you have every had one. It is one delicious drink. I think Vodka and lemon are the other components. However, the drink you are suggesting with whiskey sounds like a winner too!

Never had American Honey but I know that there are some other honey whiskeys around. I'm generally not a big fan of mixing whiskey with anything but this definitely sounds interesting so I'll keep this in mind.

I have never had any type of honey whisky before either. I have seen it around but I have never bought because I thought I might not like it. I must pick up a bottle sometime and give it a try. I am sure it tastes okay.

That's exactly my issue. I can't find it in small bottles and the 0.7 liter bottle is pretty expensive, so I don't really want to buy it just in case I don't enjoy it.

One option would be to find a bar that has it, that way you could just taste 1 glass.

I could do that. My daughter is a bartender. I rarely go to the bar where she works but I may drop in and try a glass there. I am sure they must have it.

The Jamaican ginger beer is really good in the mule drinks. It adds a nice spice/kick to the end and isn't exactly all that gingery.
