Beer With Coke.

When I was younger I used to really like mixing beer with coke. It used to get really foamy but it tasted really good at the time. I haven't had it for a while but since it's getting hot again I'm really getting in the mood for something like that. It still has a beer flavor but it's sweeter then regular beer because of the coke and it's not as alcoholic so you can drink more of them without getting worried that you won't be able to do anything after having them.

That's a pretty weird thing to do, I'd say. I never really mixed that. However, these two substances had definitely been mixed inside my stomach. I usually drink a lot of stuff when partying. I enjoy eating hamburgers/cheeseburgers and drinking beer/soda.

Beer with coke? Err.. not the biggest fan of that I have to say. I drink coke with whisky sometimes but I don't feel like it goes well with beer, it has a weird taste. What beer do you use for the mix?

i would agree that it's quite weird. I'm not going to give it a try, I think beer doesn't mix well with anything and it's best enjoyed as it is.

One thing, that I know is popular in certain areas of the country is beer with tomato juice. I am thinking it might taste something like a cheap Bloody Mary. I don't usually buy tomato juice but if I have some sometime I would like to try it. I think Bud has a product..their Clamato is inspired by the beer and tomato juice trend,,,I think.

I have never heard of mixing beer with coke. It doesn't sound very good, but I'm willing to try anything once. This reminds me of a suicide drink- where you mix numerous sodas into one cup and hope for the best.

Did you learn this technique from anyone or did you just decide to mix beer and coke one day? I will give it a shot, just for the heck of it. Would you say that I should use a certain type of beer? Light or dark, etc?

That doesn't seems like a great mix to be honest. The too taste don't really combine, but I'll give it a try anyway. You should try coke with whisky, now that's a great mix.

I can't say I've ever done that. Candidly, it doesn't sound too delightful. But, hey, there isn't anything wrong with experimentation. I'd wage many of our classic drinks were discovered in such a fashion.

I've never mixed my beer with coke. That is interesting! I can see the appeal. It covers up some of the sting from those funky beers. It is like having a soda with a little kick.

Any light beer will do, I don't use craft beer, that just would be a waste.

Shandy's are a mix of beer and carbonated lemonade. I used to really like shandy's when I was younger so one day I felt like a shandy but I didn't have any lemonade. Fortunately I had some coke and the rest is history as they say. :D

Yeah, craft beer would be a waste indeed. I figured you used light beer because dark beer wouldn't go well probably. I guess if you like it then good for you. :p
Also, do you use Coke Zero for the mix? I imagine the added sugar isn't the best.

I love drinking light beer with tomato juice, but never with Coke. However, since you like the fact that it makes the beer sweeter and what not, I have a great trick for you! When we were younger, all we could afford was cheap beer that had little to no taste and we used to buy a bottle of Root Beer Schnapps. You add a shot or two to your glass of beer and the beer turns into something that tastes like a root beer. Only the Schnapps has alcohol in it, so you're not essentially watering down your drink like you are with the Coke or the tomato juice. Plus, Schnapps is cheap for the most part, so it doesn't really hurt your wallet, either.

I think the beer with coke or root beer option is something that is being sold now. LIke the Best Damn Rootbeer ever, not your Father's rootbeer etc. They also have a cherry cola version of it I have noticed. I haven't tried any of these, but I have seen them in the store.

As a huge beer fan I find this mix very offensive. However, it seems that many people like it and I know my father likes to mix these because he claims it will lower the volume of alcohol, thus keeping his alcohol level under the amount that will get your driver licence taken. I am not a fan of DUI at any level but some people like to have few drinks.

It does sound interesting and it should give you a buzz. I normally like that mix when I can't have something very alcoholic but still want to have something with alcohol. I will give it a try, I haven't had schnapps in I don't know how long.

You sound like the guys were I live when someone puts coke into their wine. :D
Were I live they have a very strong wine tradition so the last thing they want to do is hide the taste of the wine. People pride themselves on the wine they make and you always have to say it's good even if it's not. I remember the first time I added a bit of coke to wine, I nearly got hit, if I didn't know the wine maker for a long time I'm sure he would have.

I must admit that I have never heard of such a thing. It sounds a bit bizarre to me. I don't think I would like it. I like my beer to taste like beer but to each their own.

I have never mixed beer with coke before but I have tried other mixes with beer previously. I think I would like to try the beer and coke mix. I believe it would probably be and interesting blend.
