Ambassador Program

Have you ever been a part of any whisky ambassador programs? They can be very nice, you can get free merchandise in bars if you show your card. Also, the one I am in is Makers Mark, Every year at Christmas time, they send a little gift. It is really sweet. Look for an ambassador program for your favorite brands.

I didn't know Whisky Ambassador Programs existed. I wouldn't mind looking into this, though. The idea of getting free merchandise in bars after showing a card is really intriguing. When I do most of my whisky drinking, it's in bars. I rarely drink at home, so being a member of something like this would be fantastic. I am definitely going to be looking into this for my boyfriend. He loves Whisky and this would be something he'd really enjoy.

I have never heard of these programs but they do sound interesting. There are some brands that I wouldn't mind representing.

I would love if something like this was here in Romania, sadly as far as I'm concerned there isn't an ambassador program related to whisky in Bucharest.

Are there any distilleries there? I think all that is required is a whisky maker looking for people to promote their products. This may be what you need to have in terms of these programs. I think there are quite a few distilleries that offer these programs.

I have never heard of an ambassador program for Makers Mark. That is pretty cool. I have been invited to tastings for Dewars and Macallan a few years ago. They give you a free flask and you taste a few flights of whisky. They also have a presentation while you nibble on snacks. It was fun.

I think a few of the distlleries offer special Ambassador programs. Makers Mark also offers a barrel printed with your name on it..if you attend some of their functions. I mean Kentucky isn't super far from here..but it isn't worth a special trip, if there was a special reason to go there, I would do it. I can't see going just for that however.:)

Ambassador programs are cool. I was a paid ambassador for a cocktail company a few years back. It was a temporary gig. You basically went out and got people to try their products. We gave out some free gear to people, too. I got a lot of free stuff and had a good time. The pay wasn't fantastic, but it was like going out for free and getting paid to do it. I met a lot of cool people, too. I love the Maker's Mark brand. Michael Symon (my favorite chef) is a celebrity endorser for them.

I know Michael Symon from the Food Network. From time to time you see ads on Craigslist or various places looking for ambassadors to promote their products. I don't think it is always whisky unfortunately, I think it can be for other products as well. I sometimes do mystery shops in restaurants or bars, and get free food or drink too, but you have to pay upfront, and later be reimbursed.

I've worked as an ambassador once. If was some local drinking festival. A loud music and lots of alcohol. That was a pretty cool thing to do. I wish I could do that again.

Everything that would make an event great. Unfortunately they don't offer these sort of programs were I live, or at least not for whiskey.

I also have never heard of this kind of program. It sounds really interesting though. How does one go about finding these ambassador programs?
