Beer Is Good For You

I'm pro beer, but we really need to take this info with care.
Have you ever felt really healthy after driking a load of beer? :p

This study refers to very subtle benefits.

Actually here's a quote: "here's a buzzkill: Even though beer is a good source of B vitamins, the alcohol in it mostly cancels out those benefits."

There's also another part about silicon being good for your bones.
But let's be honest... You can get that from some other source that does not contain alcohol.

Having said that, who cares?

Nasdrovia!

Tried many different beers my favorites are probably Bud Light Corona and Redd's apple ale. The reason why I like them is that they all have very different distinct flavors. Like Bud Light and Corona because of the nice hoppy bitter taste that they both have. And I like Redd's Apple Ale because of the sweet tangy fruity taste that it has. There are a lot of beers that I haven't tried yet that I'm actively searching for. I hear there's actually a root beer flavored beer now. That seems very interesting and I'm looking forward to trying it.

I like the fruity flavored beers. Budweiser has an Apple one which is pretty decent. In Canada Moosehead has Radler beer which comes in a variety of fruits flavors. My favorite is the grapefruit one. It is so good and so refreshing.

Ha ha, this is great. It doesn't surprise me that there have been good qualities found in beer. Not only does it taste good, but it's good for your bones? Count me in. Beer is a guilty pleasure of mine- guilty, because I cannot

Not sure if your message was cut short lexinonomous or not but it seemed like you might have had another thought that just didn't go through. I am curious as to what you were going to say! :)

I think it's important to keep in mind that, just like wine, the health negatives of drinking beer are going to outweigh the positives. That shouldn't stop us from drinking beer, though. It's done for fun, not for health!

Treating beer as if it's healthy is kind of dangerous because it spreads misinformation. We should all be able to enjoy ourselves from time to time, but if we start fooling ourselves into thinking it's healthy for us, we may be more prone to overdoing it.

I agree, the negative effects of drinking beer definitely outweigh the health benefits. I don't think anyone really goes out of their way to drink beer for the benefits though, lets be honest, ha ha. I think it'd be silly to hear someone actually use the excuse of it having health benefits.

LOL my partners uses the health benefits of it as an excuse to drink. I just shake my head. Sure one or two may be all right but a dozen just doesn't have the health benefits! lol

I think it is healthy if we do not overuse it. It is a diuretic and that is very good because it helps us releasing toxins in a faster way. Beside that it contains, usually, a fair amount of magnesium, selenium, potassium, phosphorus, biotin and many vitamins from B group. I learned this while having a tour with my school a long time ago in the local brewery. It was then when i tried it and loved it. All of this differ from type to type but in general it is very healthy in comparison to some other alcoholic drinks.

Well, it is very high in carbs so it is not good for anyone with a weight problem. Beer might not be that harmful in itself, but it is essentially empty calories.. I am looking for a local brew to buy and I think I found it. It has everyone around here happy as a clam as it is a Gingerbread Stout!

Well as much as informative as this article is, it's not really necessary. Beer is the most common liquor consumed whether it had health benefits or not.

I want to try this Gingerbread Stout you speak of. It really sounds like something I would really enjoy.

What are ya'll talking about? Gingerbread stout? I want it!

I think dark beers are healthy for you, definitely! Everything in moderation, sure it is easy to overdo... but beer can be a great treat with health benefits too!

That is interesting! I feel that sometimes alcohol gets a bad rap because of those that drink to abuse it. There are plenty of people that do not drink simply for the buzz, but for the flavors. Yes, a subtle buzz is nice after a long day but one or two is enough for me on occasion. It's nice to know that there are some slight health benefits to it as well!

Xanthohumol also appears to have a role as a fairly powerful antioxidant, Xanthohumol, has been getting a buzz for lots of reasons, including being a great source of vitamin E band being a great agent against high cholesterol but that isn't all it is known for. Xanthohumol is now known as being a great way too fight cancer. It is also a great aid for regaining some memory. The most amazing thing about it is it is found in hops. This is a great reason for beer drinkers across the country to stock up on beer.

That makes sense. My gramps has always told me that beer was good for cancer. I always thought he was just trying to give me an excuse as to why he should drink so much of it. I won't call him a full blown alcoholic but there is no night that he goes without it. I have to say that he has never had cancer. He doesn't drink liquors only on occasion. So I guess now I can go tell him that he was right. I also heard that beer is good for bones, Is that is why my gramps doesn't have bone problems?

Yeah i think that its pale ales that they say will help you if you have osteoporosis. Apparently there is orthosilicic acid which is a form of Silicon in beer. So It is very supportive against bone tissue being destroyed inside of the body. It appears that the more hops that are present in your beer the more of this silicon compound that the beer will be able to acquire in its soluble state. What kind of beer does your grandfather drink if you don't mind me asking?

No problem, I know that he drinks a variety of different beers. i don't really drink beer like that unless its flavored and there is a party going on myself so I never really pay attention that much. I mean there are your usual bud nights so on and so forth. But I think that one time he made a big deal about someone sneaking one of his India pale Ales from the fridge. Blame me and everything.
