Beer Shandy.

Beer shandy's can really be refreshing and they still have the taste of beer. If you are driving and don't want to have something too alcoholic but still want to have something with alcohol a beer shandy can be a good choice. Have you had a beer shandy?

So it's pretty much lemonade-flavored beer, right? We have those here in Romania that are alcohol-free, but I personally don't like the taste of any fruit combined with beer.

I am not familiar with beer shandys...or maybe I am, but I'm not familiar with this term. FuzyOn mentioned it being a lemonade flavored beer. I really wouldn't mind trying something like that. I love lemonade and find hints of citrus in beer to be super delicious. It'd be nice to see a beer that had a nice orange twist on it. I have had people juice oranges into my beer, but I feel like having a beer brewed with oranges would be infinite times better.

They are sold as alcohol free but they still do ha a little alcohol, they are more commonly known as a panaché.

Yeah, I'm familiar with panaches since they're usually sold here in Constanta at the beach, people love them especially since those don't contain a lot of alcohol, it's good if you still want to drive home but you're thirsty. :p

Leinenkugel's makes a Summer Shandy that is pretty tasty. I believe the website claimed that the alcohol content was 4.2%. I never knew that but it certainly explains why I rarely got a buzz from drinking a few. I really like beers that have slight flavors or even strong ones. I like to mix up what I drink. Variety is the spice of life!

@lexinonomous I think you would like it. If you like carbonated lemonade and beer then you will really enjoy this mix.

It sounds interesting enough. I have never combined beer and lemonade, but I do enjoy the citrus that comes with some beers. I like the idea of it being low in alcohol content as well. It'd be nice to have the flavor, but not as much alcohol content as a normal beer.

If I were to try this, would I make the drink myself or do they sell these by the bottle?

Oh no. I like beer to much to have it mixed with lemonade. I remember that in the restaurant where I worked the guys in the bar made a mix of Sprite and beer. I tried it and it was okay, even good. I drank it all and I said, "Cool, now give me a beer please."

They do sell it by the bottle were I live and it normally goes by the name of panaché. I don't know what it's sold as in the US. Try looking for shandy, you might be able to find it.
If you want to make it at home it's super easy, all you have to do is mix lemon pop with beer, I find that 7up is better then sprite but any lemon based pop will do the trick.

Beer shandy was something that I really enjoyed. However, that was years ago because that kind of drink disappeared many years ago. I don't know why it has stopped being on the shelves here but I would to see it reappear once again.

I have heard the term but I don't know that I ever had a beer shandy product. I think that it is just something that I would enjoy if I had one though. It seems like it would be a quality beverage that I would probably like. I am sure I have seen them in the stores or similar products.

It's a pity they don't have it were you live anymore, but you can always make it at home. It might not taste exactly the same but at least you can have it.

I think shandy is quite good. It's a shame that certain drinks have such a stigma against them. Shandy is considered "girly" to most but I'll proudly drink it. I've never been the type to avoid drinking something because I'll lose man points. If it's tasty and it gets me buzzed, it'll do the trick.

I have never heard of a beer shandy. I will have to check at our local beer store and see if such a thing is available around here. I will try anything at least once.

Since this discussion first was posted, I looked around at one of the local stores for beershandy products. There were quite a few of them. I found there were quite a few of them which would be delicious to drink in the summertime. I think this product would be awesome at a summer barbeue.

I never heard of them before until I heard Dolores of the Cranberries(band) sing about a shandy in the song Desperate Andy ("have yourself another shandy"). So I think I looked it up and it said something about carbonated lemonade and beer mixed together, but I think they mix them with soft drinks as well.

The taste is kinda good, but I don't like mixing fruit taste with beer (are two "things" completely opposite to me o_O), so... Beer Shandy is not for me. :)

This sounds like something that would be great right about now. The weather here is crazy and today is supposed to be about one hundred, so a little colder buzz would be nice.

I have heard of beer shandy, and I used to drink one too, it's brand is Cali. It's been a while since I bought one though.
