Renault has launched a special edition cognac - Carte Noir Extra Old - to celebrate their 180th anniversary. The special edition cognac has been aged in 40-year-old barrels for an extra 180 days [in a nod to the anniversary] and signifies the first time the flagship cognac blend has been altered. Carte Noir Extra Old cognac brings its characteristic fruit and spice notes - specifically, apple, cinnamon and hazelnut.

Only 5000 bottles of Carte Noir Extra Old cognac will be available for $110 per bottle beginning in December 2015.

Dang, I think they're already gone! :( Would've loved to try out at least the one with hazelnut.

Oh, I missed this post. Obviously I might not afford to get this cognac, but precisely cognac is my favorite spirit among all.

So sad of the limited quantity produced, and so sad for me to see other cognac houses with a background prestige are now in Japanese hands, like Courvoisier is now.

Oh yeah, they're definitely gone by now... but, I wouldn't pay over $100 for it. I guess I'm just cheap that way. I would have liled to try the hazelnut, that sounds delicious!

Some days back, I stopped by a fine liquor store and doing the math, it's nearly impossible to buy a good selection of good spirits for most of us, that oftentimes are living on a tight budget

Sad to say this but if I had 110 dollars to spend it wouldn't be on a bottle of whiskey! I think a car battery or the electric bill would come first...hehe..I am generally into the "budget" bottles. Maybe someday, I will have money again..:)

So much for not drinking and driving. If you have Renault selling cognac, what next, Ford selling a years supply of beer?
