Whiskey is a great complement to chocolate, especially dark chocolate. The more cacao, the better. I always go with dark chocolate Hershey's Kisses for an unpretentious dessert when some store lack the Hershey's Extra Dark squares I usually prefer.
+1 for chocolate, both flavors go hand in hand and it's an extremely good mix. I also love eating tortilla chips with mild chili sauce, for some reason it tastes good with whisky.
Apples, especially tart ones like green apples (Granny Smith), salty or spicy snacks that are crunchy, and many good cheeses go well with whisky.
Chocolate was already mentioned. I used to think it was weird that some of my regulars would order a chocolate bar with their drink, but apparently lots of people enjoy this.
It depends on the type of beer. It also depends on what kind of chocolate one chooses. Generally, I've seen more people choose dark chocolate with beer.
Mine is simply taking nuts with the Whisky. I like my drink with simple nuts like cashew nuts, groundnuts, roasted almond seeds. I think most drinks are great with nuts.
I usually enjoy snacking on a different variety of cheeses if I drink whisky. Another good pairing with whisky is Green Olives, I buy blue cheese crumbles and I stuff the large green olives with the blue cheese, it's really good. These are also good in Martinis also.
I like to eat pretzels with my glass of whisky and add a
mug of beer, to wash it all down. Maybe, even eat a soft pretzel while sitting in a beer garden in the summer with a whiskey on the rocks, to add a bit of taste to this popular pairing of beer and pretzels.

I like your style. Blue cheese stuffed olives are so good. I especially like them with gimlets (gin for me). I have never stuffed my own though. Frankly, I never thought of it. I just happened to buy some once because they sounded good (and they were).
Soft pretzels sound good too, @FolkArtist. A local place had some for sampling at a beerfest we went to. They were better than any I've had before. They were served with a lemon shandy. I can see them going well with a whiskey sour.
I always thought that people underestimate the drunk munchies or at least the need to snack on something while you drink. Nothing beats a good bowl of pretzels for me.
It's weird. Some people get the munchies when they drink and others don't. My husband doesn't like food with a drink, unless maybe it's a nice glass of wine with dinner.
I do get the munchies when I drink. It may be because it raises my blood sugar, and then when I'm done with the drink my sugar crashes, making me hungry. I'm not really sure why, but I often like a snack either with or after a drink.
I don't like combining chocolates and alcohol. I prefer salty foods like junk food for that. With that said, I like eating nachos of any kind with sour cream or cheese sauce. If that's not available, then plain old junkfood straight from the foil would be fine as well.
Doritos and whisky combine perfectly for me. My friends find it super strange (well... I don't care them anyway ), but the union of the flavors looks amazing. I like another snacks too, but Doritos are just amazing!
