The Ardmore Launches The Legacy

The Ardmore Legacy is set to be released next month. The Highland single malt whisky is lightly peated [80%] and is said to be carrying notes of vanilla, smoky charcoal and honey with a spicy finish. The Ardmore Legacy single malt whisky is bottled at 40% alcohol content [80 proof].

The Ardmore Legacy will cost $50 and be available in October 2014.

Another distillery (after Laphroaig) to succomb to the temptation to water-down its products to the very edge of legality (40%). The Ardmore Traditional Cask at 48% was great, but this new watered-down version ... I just don't know.
 
BTW: the Ardmore Traditional Cask at 48% could be found in France for less than 25€. Taking into considferation that the first 10€ of a whisky bottle are taxes ... a price of $50 for a 40% spirit is really taking advantage of the current Whisky bubble to the utmost.
