The Wonders Of Malte Whiskey

When ever I wanted buy I bottle of whiskey, I would normally get a brand I already knew. So I wouldn't be to adventurous with my choices.
A friend of mine gave me a bottle of 15 year old malt whiskey. All I can say is I was converted. For me,it was the best scotch I have ever had.
Have you tried malt scotch and what did you think of it?

Malt Scotch? Hmm.. I tried once and while it tasted amazing, I wouldn't pay upwards of $1k for a bottle of old whisky (that's how much 15-year old bottles go for here in Romania). Definitely better than regular whisky though.

Wow, that's is not what I paid for it, sure it's more expensive then regular whiskey but still far from that price. I think you can get your hands on one for as little as €30 here.

Well, I was refering to the expensive side of the spectrum, but with that in mind it's still hard to find a 15-year old whisky bottle for $30. It usually starts at $50.

I have not tried this, however, I would be game. I will try anything once. I think it sounds like something that would be interesting, and a different and unusual taste.

I do enjoy a malt beverage... Occasionally. I don't like to drink them all the time though.
I agree, I don't think it's ideal for daily drinking but only occasionally. I think I enjoy it so much because I don't have it that often.

They give me the worst hangovers if I go over board... I think it's worse than wine!

I didn't want to the higher end of the spectruim seeing as the sky is the limit. Glenfiddich Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve from 1955 was being sold for $94,000 and if I'm not mistaken there are even more expensive whiskeys.

Yeah, if you drink it straight you normally don't run that risk. Malt whiskey does tend to be a little harsher then regular whiskey, but if you mix it with something else, it can hit you like a ton of bricks.

I always always mix too. I bet that's why problem!

I've never tried malte whisky before, but if someone gave me a thousand dollar bottle of 15 year old scotch, I know I wouldn't be able to bring myself to drink it. I think I'd be content to just look at it everyday...:D

I would probably do the same, fortunately there are cheaper bottles that open a window into that world.

I have never tried it before. I always tend to stick with the brand that I know. I will have to step outside the box and give it a try.

I would try it, but I am not going to pay a fortune for it. I think that somethings that are highly touted like that are not worth the price you would pay for them. I would be glad to try it at a party though! I bet it would be very good and even:) delicious as well..
