Warm Beer

It was today that I came to know that some people drink warm beer. It was something unusual for me because I have always seen people preferring chilled beer. Does any of you know more about drinking warm beer?

Is it only the taste preference or has something else associated with it?

The aromas and flavors are dampened by the cold of the beer sometimes, and different beers require different temperatures to really bring the beer alive for your taste buds. The light lagers should be chilled at 35 to 40 degrees and belgian strong ales should be served at 55 to 60 degrees to give you an example.

I don't know about this. I only make it a practice to drink cold beer. I have had warm beer but I don't make it a practice to drink it. I much prefer the taste of cold beer.

As @FolkArtist noted, it really depends on the type/style of beer. Some beers are just better when they are ice cold. Others are not. Some will state right on the label that cellar temperature is best.

Some are even better at room temperature. Not really warm or hot but not really cold either. The temp can drastically change the taste of some beers.

And, some people will just drink anything, anytime, cold or warm.

Few things are worst in my opinion. I am not a big beer drinker to begin with but I always struggle when it is warm and the taste is gone.

First time to hear that beer is being taken warm some where. Well maybe the formulation is one that's suitable to be taken hot.
Even I was shocked when I saw this for the first time. It was later that I realized that this is not an uncommon practice. Many people prefer it warm.

That's quite interesting and to be honest i have always thought that Beer should be consumed cold for maximum pleasure.

Warm beer for me is a definite no also, and I have to say that I don't know one person that does drink warm beer to be honest.

I'll admit that I CAN see the point in that if a beer is served too cold then it can lose some of the taste, but that's why most manufacturers and brewers now also say at just what temperature the beer should be served at to get the most out of it.

After doing a bit of research i have come across a few brands that offer Beer which should be consumed warm, i have yet to try it but i'm quite intrigued.

I think people have to keep in mind that not all beer is the same. If you have a picture in your mind of a typical beer like a Bud Light for example then yeah, imagining it warm is pretty gross.

Other types and styles of beer are unique. Some are fuller bodied with more in depth, richer, flavors. These are not enhanced by being chilled to extremely cold temperatures. Even if served cold, the flavor will change as the beer gets warmer, some to greater extent than others. I find it especially true of something like a stout.

Warm is basically room temp, not really "hot."

It depends, I think beer that is warm isn't the best but if the brand is any good I wouldn't say no to drinking it. I prefer everything to be really cold though.
