What's Your Favorite Whiskey?

I have always liked Scotch whiskeys more than any other, being my favorite Grand Old Parr, a 12 years aged blended whiskey that incidentally is not longer distributed in the Great Britain nor Europe, as far as I learned not long ago.

It's still available here, but not something I can afford on a regular basis. However I have still an old bottle of it, a gift my father gave in the 1980s, which looks like this:

Right now I'm uncertain, but I'd have to say Glendronach 12 years or Scapa 16 years, both really delicious!

I like Makers Mark. It is a good tasting whiskey, but mostly, I like it, because they are good to me. They send me presents every year for being part of the ambassadors club.

Wow you gotta like that. Not only are you drinking great whiskey but you are getting presents too! What an awesome deal. I think more places should do this to thank their loyal drinkers.

I got into the "tasting alcohol" thing a bit late...
And most of the times I was getting drunk like the young moron that I was :p
I've drank Jameson, Grant's, Vat 69 and J&B as far as I can remember, and I couldn't tell you what they taste like...

I have to find good recipes for whisky...
It's way too hard to drink straight before leaving the house.

Give me some irish whiskey, because its triple distilled and very smooth, and a really good irish whiskey for the price is Bushmills, which anybody can afford. This place is located in Northern Ireland, and they claim to be the world's oldest distillery, but its something about the smooth taste of irish whiskey, that really does it for me. The monks who first distilled irish whiskey called it the "water of life",I think I agree!

I like Taylor and Gibson Finest though I am not a frequent man at whiskey. It's difficult for me to actually name my favorite type of whiskey.

This may sound a bit boring to some people, but my favourite whiskey as always been Highland Park. It's made in Scotland on the Orkney islands and I've actually been on a tour around the distillery there and it's well worth a visit if anybody gets the chance.

It might not be to everyone's taste, but it's got a distinctive flavour and relatively not that expensive compared to some other so called 'premium' brands.
