Do You Smoke More When You Drink?

Back when I smoked cigarettes, I noticed that I always went through more of them if I was having a few drinks. I had to consciously avoid smoking constantly while enjoying a cocktail or a cold beer.

I vape now, and it doesn't seem to be as much of an issue. What about you? Cigars, cigarettes, vape juice, or whatever your poison, do you go through more when having a drink?

I hate smoking. Neither do I smoke nor I can tolerate any smoking beside me. The smoke make me feel nauseated.

After being aware of the immense damage it causes I advice everyone to stay away from it.

I think most people are aware of the dangers. It's just not that easy to quit when you've been doing it for ages.

We didn't have all the warnings when I was young and started smoking. In fact, the ads tried to make it look glamorous. Some even said it was "healthy." Blame the tobacco companies and ad agencies for that.

Here are some in case you've never seen them: https://www.buzzfeed.com/copyranter/healthy-cigarette-ads?utm_term=.wa648gwZp#.hrbe1o8p4

They are before my time, but yeah. Deceptive.

I drink and it's always moderately. As for smoking this is not in my habit. I only tried a very short time and somehow it wasn't a thing I fancy and stopped. So I drink and that's just it.

I drink very occasionally, just once a month and sometimes not even that. But when I drink, I feel the urge to smoke. And I always smoke when I drink, Not too much, but a stick after a couple of shots. I do not know why, but I feel the urge to smoke when I have a glass in my hand. I do not smoke otherwise. It's a habit I want to stop but have been unsuccessful on many occasions. Still trying.

No, this rarely happens because I practically don't smoke anymore (and even when I smoked, the amount was very small and always separated from drinks).

Yes, exactly, i don't see the correlation between increasing the number of cigarettes with alcohol.

I think the universal answer here is yes, even probably from non smokers. I did "give it up" though, but I am still guilty of making stupid mistakes.

This is a "logic" that one day I still want to understand a lot (because it doesn't make any sense to me ) because they are two completely different things.

Exactly, other than habit or just trying to fit in, there is absolutely no reason for the two to be related in anyway.

We all make mistakes, but what separates us is whether we will learn from them, so good for you.

But I think the people who use these two products at the same time has a pretty compelling logic. Well... People are people, right? Hahahaha! :p

I only smoke and drink one at a time and never simultaneously, so that has never happened to me yet. I tend to smoke more than drink too, since I can tolerate the taste of cigarettes more than beer.

I like to smoke cigars with whisky or wine. Cigars feel complementary when you're enjoying a good beverage, I know many people who share the same feeling.

I won't smoke a cigar when I'm drinking for recreational purposes. Cigars are all about savoring the flavor of something wonderful; it's a meditative, mindful hobby that requires a relaxed, but sober frame of mind. The most I will do is pair a cigar with a complimentary drink to serve as a palate cleanser so that I can enjoy the whole cigar.

Cigars sort of have a classy and sophisticated feel to them.

I smoke a lot when I don't drink. I find it weird but when I am drinking, I would smoke lesser. I could finish a pack per day but when I am drinking 3-5 sticks is enough for me. Now I have completely stopped smoking.
