50-Year-Old Yamazaki Sells For More Than Your Car [Probably]
A 50-Year-Old bottle of Yamazaki single malt whisky sold at the Bonhams Hong Kong auction for $33,189. The whisky was aged for 50 years then bottled in 2011 in a Japanese oak cask. It was the highest price ever paid for a Japanese-sourced whisky at an auction.
The Yamazaki was one of only 150 bottled in 2011.
