Coleburn 38-Year Old Released From Obscurity
Whisky bottlers Gordon & MacPhail have rescued and released a 1981 single malt Scotch whisky from Coleburn Distillery. Coleburn Distillery was founded in 1897 in Longmorn, Scotland, and was closed in 1985.
The 38-year-old single malt was aged in a refill Sherry hogshead, bottled at 55.9% alcohol by volume [111.8 proof] and is said to contain notes of dark chocolate, licorice and toffee.
The 1981 Coleburn is being made available – with the exception of the USA – for $1,615 per bottle.
