Talisker Erupts With 47-Year-Old Magma

Isle of Skye-based Talisker Distillery has erupted with the release of Magma – a 47-year-old single malt whisky highlighting the historic volcanic formations of the distillery’s home on the Isle of Skye.

Talisker Magma 47-Year-Old was matured in new American oak casks which were toasted with heated volcanic rocks from the island, bottled at 48.8% alcohol by volume [97.6 proof] and is said to offer notes of chili, sandalwood, seaweed and toffee.

Only 622 bottles – all of which were made of 100% recycled glass – of Talisker Magma 47-Year-Old are being made available for $6,230 per 700ml bottle in select venues throughout Asia, Europe, the UK and the USA.
