Campbeltown-based Glen Scotia distillery has released the fourth single malt whisky in their Icons of Campbeltown series which showcases creatures from Campbeltown folktales. This year’s featured creature is a Griffin, which, according to the tales, was responsible for guarding the harbor.
Glen Scotia Icons of Campbeltown Release No. 4 is an unpeated 12-year-old single malt whisky finished in Vin Santo wine casks, bottled at 53.8% alcohol by volume [107.6 proof] and is said to contain notes of almond, apricot, cinnamon and and hazelnut.
Glen Scotia Icons of Campbeltown Release No.4 is being made available for $110 per bottle.
Additionally, people who purchase the bottle from Glen Scotia’s official website will be entered in a contest for a chance to win a trip to Campbeltown to meet Glen Scotia’s team, explore the distillery and taste the whiskies.
