Chichibu Quartet Arriving In The UK In October
A quartet of Japanese whiskies from Chichibu Distillery – Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Distillery II Hint of Sherry, Double Distilleries, The Peated 2026 and The London Edition 2026 – are headed toward the UK in October 2026.
Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Distillery II Hint of Sherry is the second single malt whisky from Chichibu II Distillery – which opened in 2019 – and was matured for five to six years in a mix of sherry casks and ex-bourbon barrels, bottled at 53.5% alcohol by volume [107 proof] and is said to contain notes of citrus, dark chocolate and peat smoke. Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Distillery II Hint of Sherry is being made available for $195 per bottle.
Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Double Distilleries is a blend of single malts from the Chichibu I and Chichibu II distilleries matured in a variety of cask types, bottled at 46.5% alcohol by volume [93 proof] and is said to present notes of apricot, jasmine and peach. Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Double Distilleries is being made available for $150 per bottle.
Chichibu The Peated 2026 is a heavily peated (50ppm – parts per million) single malt whisky matured in a blend of ex-bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry casks and re-coopered hogsheads, bottled at 50.5% alcohol by volume [101 proof] and is said to offer notes of almond, banana, caramel, ginger and honey. Chichibu The Peated 2026 is being made available for $260 per bottle.
Chichibu’s The London Edition 2026 – the ninth release in the distillery’s city series and created exclusively for the UK market – is a 16-cask blend of Japanese single malt whiskies, all of which were distilled at the Chichibu I distillery, bottled at 50.5% alcohol by volume [101 proof] and is said to contain notes of apricot, grapefruit, honey, and vanilla. Chichibu The London Edition 2026 is being made available for $285 per bottle.
