Air BnB Offers Knob Creek Campalooza
Online lodging rental service AirBnB has collaborated with Kentucky bourbon maker Knob Creek to offer a chance – via online auction – at going along on the distillery’s annual campout at a campground on distillery property. The winner’s bid amount will benefit hunger charity Share Our Strength, which gets 100% of the value of the winning bid.
Knob Creek’s fan club – the “Brothers of Bourbon” – is allocated most of the spots in the annual Knob Creek Campout, but some spots were allocated to winners of other contests the distillery sponsored – all of which, however, have been previously awarded. The sole remaining camping spot is AirBnB’s VIP tent – specifically, a 2-bed, 1-bedroom custom VIP tent with the winner also receiving transportation from the airport to the Clermont, KY distillery. Additionally, the tent will be assembled [so, no Ikea nightmares] and comes pre-stocked with Knob Creek goodness. Activities include a special bourbon tasting, an Old Fashioned cocktail lesson, a VIP tour of the rack house where aging takes place, and fishin’ in Booker Noe’s [master distiller and grandson of Jim Beam’s founder] favorite fishin’ hole. Celebrity chef Michael Symon will cook dinner and campers will then listen to campfire stories told by master distiller Fred Noe.
The online auction for AirBnB’s VIP tent begins next week [see link below] and ends on August 25, 2015 – the starting bid is $10 per night with a two-night minimum. The 2015 Knob Creek Campout is slated for September 25-27, 2015.
