Arrrrrrrdbeg!….Says Ardbeg’s Newest Limited Edition

Ardbeg has released a limited edition Islay single malt Scotch whisky called Arrrrrrrdbeg! as a pirate-style salute to their retiring distillery manager Mickey Heads – who retired in late 2020 after 13 years at the helm.

Arrrrrrrdbeg! is the distillery’s first whisky matured solely in ex-rye casks [the distillery’s first such venture], was bottled at 51.8% alcohol by volume [103.6 proof] and is said to contain notes of banana, pear, smoke and toffee.

The bottle design is another homage to Heads – depicting Heads as a pirate with a bottle of whisky in hand – and was created by Brazilian artist and graphic designer Butcher Billy.

Arrrrrrrdbeg! is being made available for $200 per bottle beginning in February 2021.
