Auchentoshan Doubles Down On Oak

Auchentoshan Distillery is releasing two oak-named single malt Scotch whiskies – Blood Oak and Noble Oak – for the global travel retail market. Auchentoshan Blood Oak has spent time aging in both bourbon and red wine casks [giving it a darker hue] before being bottled at 46% alcohol content [92 proof] while Auchentoshan Noble Oak has matured in “vintage” 1990 casks and bottled at 50.3% alcohol content [100.6 proof]. Auchentoshan Blood Oak is said to have notes of blood orange, nutmeg and ginger while Auchentoshan Noble Oak is reported to contain notes of spice, grapefruit and ginger.

Auchentoshan Blood Oak is available for $85 per bottle while Auchentoshan Noble Oak retails for $305 per bottle at travel retail locations beginning in November 2015.
