Benromach Throws Up Some Sherry Smoke

Speyside distillery Benromach has released their Peat Smoke Sherry Cask Matured – a small batch whisky that is both heavily peated and heavily “sherried”.

Benromach Peat Smoke Sherry Cask Matured was matured for nine years in first-fill sherry hogshead casks, bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof], carries a peat smoke level of 55ppm (parts per million phenol) and is said to contain notes of cinnamon, dark chocolate, ginger and – naturally – peat smoke.

Benromach Peat Smoke Sherry Cask Matured is being made available for $70 per bottle.
