Bowmore Introduces Ultimate Rare Whisky Collection
Islay Scotch whisky producer, Bowmore Distillery, has released their 2022 Ultimate Rare Whisky Collection, consisting of three elderly whiskies – ranging from 30-50 years old.
The Bowmore 30-Year-Old was matured in both former sherry hogsheads and former bourbon barrels, bottled at 45.1% alcohol by volume [90.2 proof] and is said to contain notes of apricot, honey and pineapple.
Only 159 bottles of The Bowmore 40-Year-Old were created – with each being bottled at 48.7% alcohol by volume [97.4 proof] and is said to contain notes of beeswax, chocolate and leather.
The Bowmore 50-Year-Old was matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads, bottled at 46.9% alcohol by volume [93.8 proof] and is said to contain notes of citrus.
The Bowmore 30-Year-Old is being made available for $2,700 per bottle, while the Bowmore 40-Year-Old is being made available for $9,205 per bottle and the Bowmore 50-Year-Old is being made available for $47,700 per bottle – all exclusively in the UK beginning in 2022.
