Bruichladdich Brings Laddie Rye Across The Pond

Islay-based Bruichladdich Distillery has brought Laddie Rye – the latest limited edition whisky distilled using locally grown Islay rye and Islay malting barley – across the pond to the USA. Bruichladdich is currently the only distillery on Islay producing rye whisky.

Bruichladdich Laddie Rye was aged for seven years in both first-fill bourbon barrels and first-fill virgin American oak casks, bottled at 50% alcohol by volume [100 proof] and is said to contain notes of black pepper, cinnamon, clove, ginger and nutmeg.

The peppery heat from the Islay-grown rye is balanced with smooth honey and vanilla from the American oak on the palate, with Bruichladdich’s citrus style settling on the finish.

Bruichladdich Laddie Rye is being made available exclusively in the USA for $60 per bottle.
