Islay distiller Bruichladdich has released their Port Charlotte OLC: 01 2010 single malt whisky [which was distilled in 2010 from a 2009 crop of Scottish barley].
Bruichladdich Port Charlotte OLC: 01 2010 was first filled into ex-bourbon, ex-Syrah and ex-VDN (vin doux naturel) casks before being transferred into Oloroso hogsheads in 2018, then bottled at 55.1% alcohol by volume [110.2 proof] and is said to contain notes of chocolate, lime and vanilla.
Bruichladdich Port Charlotte OLC: 01 2010 is being made available for $110 per bottle.
Additionally, on May 24, 2020, Bruichladdich Distillery will offer an online version of their annual Fèis Ìle Festival which had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. From 2pm to 6pm on 24 May, fans can look ‘Through the Bunghole’ with head distiller Adam Hannett and enjoy musical performances through Bruichladdich’s ‘Sofa Sessions’.
