Bud Changes Its Name To America And Its Not An April Fool’s Day Joke
Budweiser has changed their name to America. Yes it is true…or at least it will be true in a couple weeks.
Only the name will change, however, as the graphic design remains the same as will – we must assume – the actual beer in the bottle/can. Among the changes scheduled in wording:
·“King of Beers” changes to “E. Pluribus Unum”
·“The World Renowned” changes to “Land of the Free”
·“Anheuser-Busch, Inc.” changes to “Liberty & Justice For All”
·“Trademark” changes to “Indivisible”
·“Registered” changes to “Since 1776″
Budweiser’s parent company, Belgium-based Anheuser-Busch InBev, says the changes are meant to promote patriotism in the buildup to both the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in August and, of course, the upcoming presidential election in November.
The official name change will start on May 23, 2016 and continue through November – at which point, Bud will revert to its full official name of Budweiser A. Beer.
