Compass Box Offers Brulee
Whisky maker Compass Box has released Brûlée Royale Blended Malt Scotch Whisky – a limited release inspired by the 17th-century origins of the French dessert crème brûlée – a custard-based pudding topped with a layer of hardened caramelized sugar. Chef François Massialot first created the recipe for the crème brûlée in the late 1600s for the Palace of Versailles.
Compass Box Brûlée Royale Blended Malt Scotch Whisky was matured in American white oak barrels as well as casks that were toasted and charred, bottled at 49% alcohol by volume [98 proof] and is said to offer notes of butterscotch, peach and spiced molasses.
Only 8,556 bottles of Compass Box has released Brûlée Royale Blended Malt Scotch Whisky are being made available for $145 per bottle.
