Elderly 50-Year-Old Caol Ila Released

Gordon & MacPhail has released a 50-Year-Old single malt whisky from Caol Ila Distillery along with a 64-Year-Old fromt The Glenlivet Distillery as part of their Private Collection series. The Caol Ila expression is the most elderly available from that distillery.

The Gordon & MacPhail 1968 Caol Ila was aged in a refill Sherry hogshead, has been bottled at cask strength 52.5% alcohol by volume [105 proof] and is said to contain notes of lemon and spice.

Only 199 bottles of the Gordon & MacPhail 1968 Caol Ila are being made available globally for $9,590 per bottle.

Also released is the Gordon & MacPhail 1954 from The Glenlivet Distillery that was matured in a refill Sherry butt, before being bottled at cask strength 41% alcohol by volume [82 proof].
