Glen Grant Opens Glass House Collection
The Glen Grant has released a trio of single malt whiskies aged 21 to 30 years as part of their series called The Glass House Collection. The Glen Grant 25 and 30-year-old single malts are new additions to the distillery’s whisky production.
The collection honors the distillery’s 180 years of whisky making and was inspired by the founder’s [James ‘The Major’ Grant] habit of bringing back flowers and plants from his voyages around the world and storing them in his Victorian-inspired glasshouse in Scotland.
The three whiskies have all been matured in American oak bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks, with the Glen Grant 21-year-old bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof] and said to offer notes of tropical fruit and creamy butter.
The Glen Grant 25-year-old was also bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof] and is said to offer notes of dried stone fruit and toffee.
The Glen Grant 30-year-old was bottled at 48% alcohol by volume [96 proof] and is said to offer notes of oak, nectarine, honey, and dried fruit.
The Glass House Collection is being made available in Asia, the UK and the USA with the 21-year-old priced at $360 per bottle, the 25-year-old at $1,000 per bottle and the 30-year-old at $3,000 per bottle.
