Campbeltown distillery Glen Scotia has released a 46-year-old single malt whisky – their oldest whisky to date.

Glen Scotia 46-year-old expression was initially matured in refill bourbon casks, then re-casked and matured an additional 36 years in first-fill bourbon barrels before being finished for four years in Oloroso sherry butts, bottled at 41.7% alcohol by volume [83.4 proof] and is said to contain notes of tropical fruits.

Glen Scotia 46-year-old is being made available for $8,340 per 700ml bottle from the Glen Scotia website.
