GlenAllachie Turns Nine Casks Into 30-Year-Old Single Malt Whisky
Speyside distillery The GlenAllachie has released The GlenAllachie 30-Year-Old Cask Strength Batch 1 – the blended result of nine casks.
The GlenAllachie 30-Year-Old Cask Strength Batch 1 is a blend of nine casks formerly holding both 1989 and 1990 whiskies matured in ex-Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, as well as chinquapin virgin oak casks, which was then bottled at 48.9% alcohol by volume [97.8 proof] and is said to contain notes of cinnamon, coconut, dark chocolate, figs, honey, nutmeg and raisins.
Only 2,000 bottles of The GlenAllachie 30-Year-Old Cask Strength Batch 1 are being made available for $670 per bottle.
