Glenfiddich Doubles Down On Their Rare Collection – Adds Two Whiskies
Glenfiddich has added a pair of whiskies to The Rare Collection – both 44-year-old single malts matured in European oak casks.
1975 was a good year for Glenfiddich as both casks selected for inclusion into The Rare Collection were filled within a week of each other in that year – Cask 4706 was aged in a European oak sherry butt while Cask 5114 was matured in a European oak hogshead.
Glenfiddich 1975 Vintage Cask 4706 was bottled at 48% alcohol by volume [96 proof] and is said to contain notes of banana, citrus and green apple while Glenfiddich 1975 Vintage Cask 5114 was bottled at 54.7% alcohol by volume [109.4 proof] and is said to contain notes of apricots, caramelized apple and spicy oak.
Only 100 bottles of each single cask whisky are being made available [exclusively in the USA] for $9000 per bottle.
