Glenfiddich Launches IPA And XX
Glenfiddich has launched IPA and XX – but it is not what you think – it is two whiskies that are part of their Experimental Series. The Glenfiddich IPA Experiment and Project XX (which is to be pronounced as “twenty” if you want to be proper and all) both take decidedly unique pathways to the final product.
The Glenfiddich IPA Experiment is a single malt Scotch whisky finished in India Pale Ale (IPA) craft beer casks. This is reported to give the single malt Scotch whisky citrus notes originating from the oak casks that had formerly held a local Speyside IPA beer with a vanilla finish.
Meanwhile, the Glenfiddich Project XX is a collection of 20 [hence the name…] single malt casks selected from a Glenfiddich warehouse by whisky experts from 16 countries [USA, Canada, France, Germany, Taiwan, China, Southeast Asia [represented as a region], Ukraine, Brazil, England, Scotland, Mexico, The Netherlands, South Korea, Russia and South Africa] and blended into a single malt whisky. The result is a whisky with notes of almond, cinnamon and fruit, cinnamon.
The Glenfiddich IPA Experiment and Glenfiddich Project XX will both be available in global travel retail outlets for $55 and $60 per bottle, respectively, beginning in November 2017.
