Glengoyne Gets Into The Spirit Of Oak
For Halloween, Glengoyne is getting into the “spirit” with their release of their Spirit of Oak single malt whisky range, but, alas, only for the UK travel retail markets.
The Glengoyne Spirit of Oak single malt collection will include four whiskies altogether, the first two whiskies will be available from launch – Glengoyne Cuartillo and Glengoyne Balbaína.
Glengoyne Cuartillo has been matured in American oak Oloroso sherry casks, is bottled at 40% alcohol by volume [80 proof], is said to contain notes of green apple, toffee and vanilla and is being made available for $63 per one-liter bottle.
Glengoyne Balbaína has been aged in first-fill European oak Oloroso sherry casks, is bottled at 43% alcohol by volume [86 proof], is said to contain notes of cloves, honey, raisins and red apples and is being made available for $75 per one-liter bottle.
Launching in January 2019 – also, exclusively in the UK travel retail markets – are Glengoyne Pedro Xíménez Cask Finish and Glengoyne 28-Year-Old.
Glengoyne Pedro Xíménez Cask Finish has been matured in both European and American oak and finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, is bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof], is said to contain notes of sugar and spice [and presumably, everything nice] and is being made available for $113 per bottle.
Glengoyne 28-Year-Old has been aged in first-fill sherry casks, is bottled at 46.8% alcohol by volume [93.6 proof], is said to contain notes of fruit and spice and is being made available for $535 per 700ml bottle.
