Glengoyne Whisky Released From Captivity
After waiting around 25 years maturing in 100% first-fill European oak sherry casks, Glengoyne finally relinquished some of its single malt whisky for the world. Using the unique method of drying their malted barley only with warm air – to persuade subtle flavors from the barley – Glengoyne whisky process takes longer from start to finish than most other single malts and generally results in toffee and spice palates. Glengoyne will release its 25-year-old as well as cask strength, 21-year-old, 18-year-old and 15-year-old whiskies.
Glengoyne 25-year-old is 92 proof [46% alcohol content] and retails for $470 per 750ml bottle.
