Glenmorangie Issues 12-Year-Old Amontillado Cask Finish
It may seem like WC is promoting Glenmorangie this month after WC recently reviewed Nectar d’Or – but it is genuine coincidence that the Highland single malt brand has released a 12-year-old whisky finished in Amontillado Sherry casks as the fourth entry in their Barrel Select Release series of small batch single malts.
Glenmorangie Amontillado Finish was matured for eight years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before spending the remaining four years in Amontillado casks, then was bottled at 46% alcohol by volume (92 proof) and is said to offer notes of carnation, cashew, clove, citrus, ginger, jasmine and walnut.
Glenmorangie Amontillado Finish is being made available exclusively in Australia and the UK for $90 per bottle.
