200 bottles of lowland single malt Scotch whisky from the discontinued Rosebank Distillery will be offered in an online auction today for somebody’s Valentine’s Day present.

Rosebank Cask Number 433 has been bottled at 53.3% alcohol by volume [106.6 proof] and is said to contain notes of citrus, mango and vanilla while Rosebank Cask Number 625 has been bottled at 50.4% alcohol by volume [100.8 proof] and is said to contain notes of banana, shortbread and tropical fruit. Both were matured in refill bourbon hogsheads.

Only 100 bottles of each single cask Scotch whisky will be released via ballot today for Rosebank subscribers for $3,233 each. The remaining bottles from each cask will be available via general release on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

The Rosebank Distillery was closed in 1993 but has been purchased by Ian Macleod Distillers who began restoration of Rosebank Distillery in November 2019.

Those who are successful in the sale will be invited to collect their bottle at a private, intimate event in London on Wednesday 18 March 18, 2020.
