House Of Hazelwood Begins 100-Year Journey With 60-Year-Old
Speyside-based House of Hazelwood, owned by the Gordon family [in turn, owners of William Grant & Sons], have released One For The Next – a 60-year-old blended single grain whisky that will mark the beginning of a decade-by-decade journey to building a collection of whiskies eventually reaching a 100-year-old single grain whisky. Hazelwood House is the Gordon family home in Speyside.
House of Hazelwood’s One For The Next debuts the collection as a 60-year-old single grain whisky from William Grant & Sons’ Girvan Distillery – itself celebrating its 60th anniversary – emerges from a blend of five grain whiskies and is said to impart notes of almond, citrus and Granny Smith green apples.
Only a mere 25 bottles of House of Hazelwood’s One For The Next Chapter One 60-Year-Old are being made available for $13,300 per bottle. Purchasers will be granted access to a private microsite that will provide updates on the collection’s progress, including annual reports on the whisky’s maturation process and will receive a certificate of ownership, invitations to exclusive owner events, tasting samples, and information on transferring ownership to future generations.
