James Beam Distilling Reveals Old Grand Dad Bonded 7-Year Old
James Beam Distilling has released their annual Old Grand-Dad seven-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, bonded according to 1897’s Bottled-in-Bond Act which requires whiskey to be produced from a single distillation season in a single distillery, aged for at least four years, and bottled at a minimum of 50% ABV.
James Beam Distilling’s Old Grand Dad Aged Seven Years was indeed bottled at 50% alcohol by volume [100 proof] and is said to contain notes of the ubiquitous caramel and vanilla, alongside charred oak.
James Beam Distilling’s Old Grand Dad Aged Seven Years is being made available worldwide for $40 per bottle.
Old Grand-Dad was founded in 1882 but was acquired by James B Beam Distilling in 1987.
