Kavalan Unveils Grand Reserve Whiskies

Taiwan-based Kavalan Distillery has released a pair of new whiskies – Kavalan Grand Reserve No.1 and Kavalan Grand Reserve No.2 – but both will only be available in Lotte Duty Free travel retail venues.

Both Kavalan Grand Reserve whiskies were initially aged in shaved, toasted and re-charred Vinho wine casks as well as being bottled at 40% alcohol by volume [80 proof].

Kavalan Grand Reserve No.1 was additionally matured in Spanish Amontillado sherry casks and is said to offer notes of apricot, berries and and caramel.

Kavalan Grand Reserve No.2 was also additionally matured – in both Madeira and Portuguese ruby Port casks – and is said to offer notes of candied fruits.

Both Kavalan Grand Reserve No. 1 and Kavalan Grand Reserve No. 2 are being made available for $125 per one-liter bottle at Lotte Duty Free travel retail venues in Australia, Guam, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan.
